We work in occupied commercial buildings. The schedule and the surface are planned around how the space is used.
Polished sales floors and entries that hold up to cart traffic and read clean under store lighting.
Hard-wearing sealed and polished slabs for racking aisles, loading areas, and forklift traffic.
Finished concrete for lobbies, open offices, and build-outs, sequenced to keep a TI schedule moving.
Sealed, easy-to-clean surfaces with slip-resistance options for clinical and lab environments.
Sealed back-of-house and dining floors finished during off-hours to protect your service window.
Durable, low-maintenance floors for corridors and common areas, finished on breaks and weekends.
CAPABILITIES
No surprises on the spec. Here’s the scope we cover and how we run a job in an occupied building.
Grinding, polishing, and sealing scheduled around your operating hours, including overnight and weekend windows, so the floor is back in service when you open.
HEPA-filtered, dust-controlled grinding and surface prep that keeps airborne silica down in occupied and tenant-shared buildings.
Polished finishes specified from low satin to a high reflective sheen, matched to the look and lighting of the space.
Lithium densifier and penetrating or topical sealers selected for the slab and the traffic, hardening the surface and reducing dusting.
Slip-resistance treatments and finish choices for entries, ramps, kitchens, and wet areas where traction matters.
Control-joint filling and crack repair with semi-rigid fillers to give a durable, cleanable surface across the floor.
Moisture testing and slab assessment before coating or sealing, so the finish is specified for conditions that won’t fail later.
Grinding, shot-blasting, and coating removal to prepare a slab for new flooring, sealer, or a polish program.
Recent project
A Pearl District retail tenant needed a worn sales floor re-polished without closing. Crews sectioned the floor and worked overnight, completing prep, polish, and seal in one window. Dust-controlled grinding kept the adjacent tenant space usable. By morning, the store had a uniform, low-maintenance finish at the agreed gloss level and opened on schedule.
Polished and sealed concrete lasts longest with scheduled upkeep. Scope and frequency are set per facility after we inspect the floor.
Routine upkeep for high-traffic floors.
A once-a-year reset for the whole floor.
Not sure which fits? Tell us about the facility in the form below and we’ll recommend a schedule.
Metro Concrete Co. polishes, seals, grinds, and preps floors for retail, warehouse, office, healthcare, and hospitality facilities across Portland. Because floor work is all we do, the prep, finish, and schedule are specified to the building.
Most of our work happens after hours and on weekends, so your floor is back in service when your doors open. We walk the slab before we quote, agree on the gloss level and slip-resistance up front, and leave you a surface that’s easy to clean and built for the traffic it’ll take.
“They worked overnight so we never closed, and the floor was dry and back in service before we opened. Clean crew, clear schedule, no surprises.”
“We brought them in mid-build to prep and polish the slab. They held the schedule and the finish matched the spec we agreed on.”
Send the basics and we’ll follow up to schedule a walkthrough. The more you can tell us about the space and the timing, the tighter the quote.
